Repkon USA Awarded US Army Contract for Kentucky TNT Facility

Repkon USA President Bryan Van Brunt, Senate Republican Leader Mitch McConnell, Congressman Brett Guthrie, Judge Executive Mack McGehee, and Major General John T. Reim spoke at the contract award announcement in for a TNT facility to be constructed in Kentucky.

Tampa, Florida – Repkon USA has been awarded a contract by the United States Army, valued at $435M, for the construction and operation of the first U.S. domestic facility to produce Trinitrotoluene (TNT) in the United States since the 1980’s. TNT is a critical explosive for items ranging from 155mm artillery rounds to aircraft bombs for the Air Force. Repkon USA will rapidly construct the facility at its commercial site in Kentucky using state of the art technology, maximizing the use of automation and digitization, and implementing a novel waste neutralization process. The facility will be constructed and operational in less than 36 months. This award, funded in part by the 2024 Ukraine Supplemental, secures the DOD’s munitions supply from a domestic source for decades to come.
